Mike "Almaden Slim" Burke

Mike Burke sings those gutteral songs and plays guitar for the band. He has played in blues, rock and even country bands for many years.

Mike directs the music we play and is responsible for the upbeat versions we have created. You can hear the Southern Allman-like influence in his interpretations. Mike is actually born and raised in San Francisco and was influenced by the San Francisco sound that became so popular in the 70's and 80's.

His country and western experience occured during his time in Atlanta, Georgia, making a few bucks to pay for his BSEE and MSEE degrees from Georgia Tech. Mike's Southern side includes a family of musicians dating back to before the American Civil War. He actually lived just off of highway 41 (U.S. 41), made famous by the Allman Brothers in "Ramblin' Man".
